About CSI
Creative Safety Initiatives (CSI) is an ACT based registered training organisation (RTO 88216) committed to a continuing focus on improving safety standards in the building and construction industry. Through training and industry consultation, CSI hopes to reduce the number and the severity of accidents in the workplace.
CSI aims to accommodate the busy schedules of the building and construction industry through flexible training delivery modes. Most training can be conducted at your workplace and at a time that is suitable for your organisation.
CSI represents a group of dedicated individuals who are committed to creating safe work environments and safe communities for workers. Through the provision of education, CSI aims to encourage harm reduction and attitudinal change regarding safety in the workplace.

Brian Vernon
General Manager
Brian joined CSI in February 2023. He has 36 years’ experience in the vocational education and training sector with a Master’s degree in Adult Education, 2 Graduate Diplomas, 3 Advanced Diplomas, 11 Diplomas in various fields, and 6 Certificate IV’s in various fields.
Grant Brewer
Training Coordinator
Grant brings an extensive range of skills to CSI. From conducting assessments, training, work and safety procedures, and being a Hydraulic worker, to completing his Diploma of Youth Services and operating his own successful plumbing business. Grant joined the team in 2020 as a Trainer.
Brian Smith
Training Officer
Brian comes to CSI with over 16 years’ experience working in Youth Protection and the broader community as a field Officer. Workplace health and Safety has always been a priority for Brian. Brian became a Trainer for CSI in 2021.
Rory Pearsall
Training Officer
Rory joined CSI in April 2023 and has been in the trades industry for 11 years, including mechanical and electrical trades experience. Workplace health and safety has been a priority of his career.
Robert Moran
Training Officer
Robert joined the CSI Team in June 2023. He has 35 years in business and holds an MBA qualification. Rob is focused on aligning business objectives through measurable outcomes in operational management, facilities management, ICT management, project management, account management and professional development and training.

Stephanie joined the CFMEU ACT Branch at the beginning of 2020 following her EA role with the Dickson Tradies. Stephanie brings over 10 years’ administration experience to Creative Safety Initiatives.

Natalie joined CFMEU/CSI in November 2023. Natalie has over 20 years’ experience in training and administration in the vocational education and training sector.

Danielle joined the CSI Team in March 2026. She has over 10 years of experience supporting senior leaders and managing complex administration and projects within registered training organisations.
