What is the difference between nationally recognised training and non-accredited training?
CSI delivers both nationally recognised and accredited training and non-accredited training.
Nationally recognised training is delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) in accordance with the vocational education and training (VET) system. These courses can be identified by the Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) logo displayed on the course page.
Participants who successfully complete a nationally recognised course will receive nationally recognised certification, such as a Statement of Attainment.
Our non-accredited courses and training are designed to build knowledge, skills and awareness in specific topic areas. They provide valuable professional development and practical learning. Participants who successfully complete a non-accredited course will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Look for the NRT logo on our course pages to identify nationally recognised training:

Where will my training be held?
The training location will be provided in your booking confirmation.
Most public courses are held in our training room on Level 2, Quality Hotel Dickson, ACT.
If you’re attending a private course arranged by your employer or organisation, training may be delivered at your workplace or another nominated venue.
If you’re unsure where you’re attending, please contact us before your training.
How do I find the training room at the Quality Hotel Dickson?
If you’re attending training at the Quality Hotel Dickson, park in the Dickson Tradies Club undercover car park and take the double lifts to Level 2. Follow the silver handrail around to the training room entrance. Look out for CSI signage along the way and on the training room doors to help you find us.
How does parking work at the Dickson Tradies Club?
If you’re attending training at the Quality Hotel Dickson, please see your trainer before you leave for the day to receive a parking validation card.
Please note that CSI cannot reimburse parking fees that have already been paid.
What is the ACT Building and Construction Industry Training Fund Authority (TFA)?
The Training Fund Authority (TFA) helps subsidise the cost of eligible training for people working in the ACT building and construction industry.
To be eligible for the subsidised (gap) fee, participants must meet the TFA eligibility requirements. Generally, this includes people who usually work in, or in connection with, the ACT building and construction industry and spend at least 80% of their time performing work that is subject to the training levy.
If you’re unsure whether you’re eligible, please contact us before enrolling.
When will I receive my Certificate or Statement of Attainment?
Depending on the course you attend, you will receive either nationally recognised certification (such as a Statement of Attainment) or a Certificate of Completion.
They are generally issued within 30 calendar days of you successfully completing the course, provided all course requirements have been met.
For nationally recognised and accredited training, you must be assessed as competent before certification can be issued. For non-accredited training, a Certificate of Completion will be issued once you have attended and completed the training.
Please note that certification will only be provided once full payment has been received.
What is a Unique Student Identifier (USI)?
A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is your individual education number for nationally recognised training in Australia.
When enrolling, please ensure the personal details you provide match your USI record exactly.
For more information or to create or find your USI, visit the USI website.
Can I get a letter confirming my attendance?
Yes, a letter confirming your attendance can be provided upon request.
Please note that a letter of attendance only confirms that you attended the training and does not indicate whether you successfully completed the training or were assessed as competent.
I require an interpreter. Can a friend or family member translate for me?
No. Participants who require interpreting services must arrange a qualified, independent interpreter through an external provider.
The participant is responsible for any costs associated with these services. Using an independent interpreter helps ensure the integrity and fairness of the training and assessment process.
