Privacy Statement

CSI is committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information in accordance with applicable privacy legislation and regulatory requirements.

For further information, please refer to the: Privacy Statement & Notice

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

To receive a nationally recognised VET qualification or Statement of Attainment, you must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). CSI is also required to include your USI in the data submitted to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER).

If you do not already have a USI, you can apply for one directly via the USI website: https://www.usi.gov.au/students/create-your-usi/

If you would like CSI to apply for a USI on your behalf, you must provide authorisation and confirm that you have read the relevant privacy information available at: https://www.usi.gov.au/documents/privacy-notice-when-rto-applies-their-behalf. You will also need to provide additional identification information so that CSI can submit the application on your behalf.

In accordance with the Student Identifiers Act 2014, CSI will securely destroy any personal information collected solely for the purpose of applying for a USI on your behalf as soon as practicable after the application has been completed or the information is no longer required for that purpose.

Your Rights

As part of your training and assessment, you have various rights and responsibilities. Please refer to the Student Handbook for further information.

CSI is committed to ensuring your training experience is safe, supportive, and respectful. If at any time you feel harassed, bullied, abused, or discriminated against, please notify the General Manager immediately.

If you wish to make a complaint about any aspect of your training, assessment, or the services provided by CSI, you may do so verbally or in writing. Appeals relating to decisions made by CSI must be submitted in writing to the General Manager. Please refer to the Complaints & Appeals section below.

You may also request access to your records by contacting the General Manager.

Support Services & Special Needs

CSI is committed to supporting you throughout your training and assessment.

If you require assistance or support at any stage of your course, please discuss your needs with CSI staff or your trainer and we will do our best to assist you.

If you have any special needs or requirements that may affect your ability to participate in training or assessment — including language, literacy, numeracy, digital skills, mobility, visual impairment, hearing impairment, or any other disability or learning support need — please notify us prior to enrolment where possible so appropriate support arrangements can be considered.

For accredited training courses, learners are also required to complete a Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital Skills (LLND) assessment during the enrolment process to help determine appropriate support needs and course suitability.

Providing this information helps us identify suitable support options and assist you to successfully participate in and complete your course.

Anti-Discrimination, Bullying & Harassment

CSI is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive training environment free from discrimination, bullying, harassment, victimisation, and inappropriate behaviour.

This policy outlines the responsibilities of learners, staff, and contractors in preventing and responding to unacceptable behaviour, including conduct that may offend, intimidate, humiliate, exclude, or undermine others.

Harassment or discrimination on the basis of attributes protected under applicable legislation will not be tolerated. CSI also has obligations under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 to provide a safe learning environment for all participants.

For full details, please refer to the: Anti-Discrimination, Bullying & Harassment Policy & Procedure

Complaints & Appeals

CSI is committed to resolving complaints and appeals fairly, respectfully, confidentially, and in a timely manner in accordance with the principles of natural justice.

Students, staff, and members of the public have the right to raise concerns or appeal decisions without fear of victimisation or unfair treatment.

Where appropriate, concerns should first be discussed informally with CSI staff. If the matter cannot be resolved informally, a formal complaint or appeal may be submitted using the forms below.

CSI will review all complaints and appeals fairly and provide a written outcome following the review process.

Refund Requests

To apply for a refund, a written request must be submitted using the Refund Request Form.

Refund applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and processed within four (4) weeks of receiving the completed request.

Any approved refund will only be paid to the person or organisation that entered into the agreement with CSI and will not be paid to a third party.

All refunds are paid electronically. Cash refunds will not be provided.

Agreeing to this refund policy does not remove a student’s rights under Australian Consumer Law or prevent them from pursuing other available legal remedies.

Course Completion

CSI does not guarantee that a learner will:

  • successfully complete a training product
  • obtain a particular employment outcome

CSI is responsible for the compliance of training and assessment processes and for issuing certificates upon successful completion.
